Holy Cow

Holy cow, it has been a long time since I have been on this site. I had to try seven times to get my log in information right. I think that the most profound thing is the difference in the photos of my children. My son now is almost twelve an my daughter is almost three. I almost can't believe that she was so little that she fit in just one arm. I am so surprised by that. My children are not all that have grown, I have as well. I was very discouraged when I wrote my last blog and felt quite distrustful of the Pagan community at large, but now I realize that it is not the community that has to change, it is myself. I was too trusting of those around me and believed that everyone I met held themselves to the same high standard as I hold myself. I have learned to separate myself from the world, that is not to say that I leave the world to itself, but that I no longer expect the world to live up to my standard. I think that I will be happier this way. With this new perspective, I am once again looking for camaraderie in the Pagan community. I hope that those people who were my friends on this site will once again choose to be.

GRRR abd Argh

What a long, hard time! As some of you know, I have had some problems with room mates, well I won't be having those kind of problems again. The room mates that I had turned me off on the whole experience. They have almost turned me off on the Pagan community at large. i had these 'great friends" that I met through the AZ Pagan community, we were very close and even started a coven together. THen they had to move away because they needed to live with family in OR. To say the least we missed them. Then they wanted to come back to the Phoenix AZ area. With joy and love we welcomed them into our house, as they needed a place to live. We thought that we would be getting our friends and our coven back, instead we got lying decietful wretches and way high electric bills. Now our ' friends' owe us money and don't call, write, or have any contact with us, they have even gone so far as to close our e-group and hide from us at open Pagan functions i.e. Pagan Pride Day. I hope that these people are not representative of all Pagans, but I fear that they are. As a result I am giving up on seeking out new friends in the AZ Pagan Community.

Not what I expected.

Have you ever been looking foward to something, seeing it as a great oppertunity, only to have it turn ugly? Well, unfortunately that is what has happened at my house. In my last blog I wrote about how excited I was to have friends come to live with us and how it was going to make my life easier. In my mind I saw my household work load lessening, because there were going to be more people, you know more hands make less work. I couldn't have been more mistaken. I may have set myself up for this dissapointment, but I believe that if you live with friends or family as an adult and don't pay rent, you need to help out with the chores to contribute to the household. I have lived with friends and this is how I behaved. My friends that are living with us have not heard of this concept, so instead of my life being less hetic it has gotten worse.

What a long time.

What a long time it has been since I have had the oppertunity to write. My life has become more complicated, but less hectic. Where there were only four of us there are now seven. No, we did'nt have more children. Three of our dearest friends needed a place to stay, so we made a place for them. The upside of that is that I love our friends and am glad to have them back from Oregon. The downside is that we moved our daughter into our room(her bed and all) and now we have to figure out another place to have privet time, so as not to give our daughter nightmares. I will try to be more prolific, now that I have some extra help. I will write more. Thank you all for reading and being my friends.

Strange Changes

I was sitting just now and had a moment to reflect(my daughter is finally naping) and it struck me just how right David Bowie was when he wrote that song"Changes". I remeber a time, not so long ago when my mother dreaded anyone she knew asking about me or seeing me in public.You see, I was the black sheep of the family. In fact, I was the blackest black sheep that there had ever been in my family, even eight geneations back, no one was as black sheepish as me. I had BAD HAIR,(a sixteen inch high "mohawk"), BAD CLOTHES(modified with studs, duct tape and hundreds of safetypins), listened to "horrible music"like, Depeche Mode and The Cult, and had a realy bad attitude. My how the times have changed. At work at a major retailer, I see little kids with mohawks every day. Most of the horrible music that I used to listen to has been tured into muzack and is played on the Wal-Mart in-store radio station. My bad clothes have all been recreated as high coture by every major designer. I still have the same bad attitude, but the attitudes of most of the people I meet at work make me seem conservative in comparison. Talk about strange changes. My manager at work has fifteen tattoos and an earring, Ozzy has his own t.v. show and Alice Cooper is a d.j. I feel as lost as stranger in a strange land.
